Charity marks seven years

BBC Television children's presenters Ana Boulter and Liam Dolan cut the cake for the seventh birthday celebrations of the Oxfordshire charity Oscar, which helps children suffering from tumours.

Almost 150 children, family and friends attended the party at the Kingfisher Barn in Abingdon. The group helps children and their families from four counties cope with the physical, mental and financial problems associated with the cancerous growths. O.S.C.A.R. - Offering Support to Children And Relatives - was formed in 1994.

Co-founder Erica Watson helped organised the birthday celebrations. Mrs Watson said: "The need for a support group for the victims and their families soon became clear and so we formed Oscar. We play a very important role in helping the children and their families deal with very distressing circumstances."
